Change Your Car Filter For That Amazing Speed

An expensive vehicle purchase involves a good amount of research while understanding your needs. The bought vehicle has to be cared for regularly, and you need to avail the transmission service to keep your car steady and healthy. Although transmission is labeled as a routine service, only professionals have the necessary knowledge and practical skills to perform a diverse range of high quality maintenance routines. The car's power transmission system has the most significant role of relaying the right amount of power from engine to the wheels. But before contact with the transmission service, you need to know about your car transmission and if you have an automatic transmission system in your car then you must contact the automatic transmission service for the same.

Types of Transmission

The transmission mechanism functions with the assistance of different components such as the engine, torque converter, gears, clutch, shift lever, and the driver. The right amount of power has to be supplied so that the car can work smoothly at any given speed.  The transmission fluid lubricates various parts of this system ensuring vehicle to deliver optimum performance for longer periods of time. The transmission service at a service station includes fluid change as well as a thorough check-up for diagnosing simple, common, and complex problems. If you find any vibration, noise and sudden breakdown in your car then you must consult the nearest transmission service centre. These symptoms are the indication of the transmission problems and if you do not fix them at initial stage then you will need to spend more amounts for transmission rebuilding.

1.      Manual Transmission

In this system, the driver pushes the clutch to disconnect the engine from the transmission, and the gear shifter is adjusted. The clutch is released after shifting gears, and the driver can ride forward at a higher or lower speed. Automatic transmission does not have any gear and you do not need to control the gear system of your car. The gear will automatically change according to your car speed and you need to check this feature after certain time.

2.      Automatic Transmission

This system is akin to an automatic gear shifter as the clutch is automatic which ensures power transfer. The torque converter inside the system senses the variations in acceleration/deceleration and automatically shifts the car to a higher or lower gear. The driver gets to know about these changes as the engine sound variates when the car speed accelerates or reduced.

How to Change Fluid During Transmission Service?

The transmission service has to be initiated at the right time by adopting right methods of detection of real or anticipated fault. The self-starters who aspire to perform a transmission correction have to know some of the technical aspects to produce better results. The alternative is to take the car to a mechanic or service station, which are skilled and possess knowledge of the underlying system. Either way, the auto deserves a periodic checkup and partial or complete service involving the fluid and filter.
  • Frequent users have to perform a monthly check up of the vehicle's transmission fluid as a preventive measure to identify low levels, and burnt out or dirty fluid.
  • Locate the dipstick and check the fluid's colour, smell, and consistency while the vehicle is running.
  • The car has to be put on an elevated ramp and the transmission pan has to be located and checked for the presence of debris, dirt, etc.
  • Finally, Check the gasket, remove the filter, and change the fluid and the filter (if necessary).
If the car does not have a dipstick then the transmission service can only be performed by a trained technician at the station who has the necessary equipment.
