Cryolipolysis- A Medical Wonder and a Miracle Cure For Obesity

Removal of fat becomes an essential procedure for people who are excessively fat. It is used as cosmetic surgery. Very simply put it is the removal of excess and unwanted fat or adipose tissue. When a patient undergoes liposuction the procedure is invasive. There are a few non-invasive methods of fat removal. They are done by means of laser therapy, radiofrequency, ultrasound or cryoblation. It must be remembered that bariatric surgery is different from liposuction or Cryolipolysis.

Major Difference between Invasive and Non-invasive Procedures

There is one crucial distinction between invasive and non-invasive. In an invasive procedure, a body is cut open to enter into it employing surgical instruments whereas, in the latter, it is done by simple palpations, x-rays and other medical check-ups like blood pressure, insulin monitoring, etc.

What Is Cryolipolysis?

Cryolipolysis declared to be a very safe procedure by doctors, is a medical technology where all the stubborn fat of the concerned person is frozen by cooling methods and removed. Here the cells that have been cooled are given a curing period of a few months when the cooled cells dry and shrink and are disposed of by the body through the liver. This procedure is carried out by means of curtailing a person’s food intake or hosting barriers in the way of digestion of food. The two procedures are totally disparate. So here it is very evident that the procedure is non-invasive and thus safe and reliable.

The advantage

The best part is that this treatment is for the long term. As fat cells are not known to be regenerating in the course of time, if adequate measures are taken then the person is liable to remain in good shape for an entire lifetime. But if the person loses purpose and goes back to the normal schedule, then the whole process goes to vain. Cryolipolysisis potent in some very sensitive areas like the upper and lower abdomens (tires), flanks (love handles), the upper portion of the arms, inner parts of the thighs and sometimes on the facial parts like the chin.

Side Effects

Every medical procedure is complete with side effects. So quite naturally, Cryolipolysis also has a few side effectsalthough they are temporary in nature. The side effects are:

  • Severe cold
  • A tingling sensation
  • Stinging sensation
  • Bruising easily
  • Tenderness in body parts
  • Numbness
  • Cramping of muscles

As they are very minor, they can very easily be put up with. The time duration of these side effects is also a meagre twelve days to a month or two. But this also depends on the treatment area.

Advice to Be Followed Post Procedure

The main aim of Cryolipolysis is staying healthy and fit with minimum fat in the body parts that require it. This can solely be achieved by eating healthy, increasing fluid intake and regular exercising. These are not very critical bits of advice given, but if followed properly then the whole procedure becomes fruitful and worth it. The procedures involve a lot of costs depending on the country where it is being performed in so it is only right that the person does everything right to stay in shape.

Number of Sessions Required For the Procedure

The first session it yields massive results. The first session helps a person to lose 20% of the body fat in the area treated. Most patients really do not require more than one session but, some stubborn fats require multiple sessions. But it should advisably be done only after a month has elapsed since the first session.

Cryolipolysis is considered permanent, provided the person concerned maintains a healthy lifestyle and food habits. This is of utmost importance for a treated person failing which he may go back to the same place where he started from. Remember to always consult a personal physician that you trust. If they know about the procedure they will help you throughout the process in the best way they can.
